B.C. food diary pt. 2

Hello and happy Sunday!

First off, I apologize about the lack of posts lately but hey, better late than never right? Here are the rest of my food shots from our trip to British-Columbia back in July.

Nuba, Vancouver

We went here for my birthday dinner and it was IN-credible! Nuba's menu is mostly Middle Eastern and they have plenty of vegan choices. Everything we ordered was delicious but these crispy falafel balls drizzled with tahini and accompanied by a spicy parsley dip were the best thing by far. Mmm, I wish I could go back right now... too bad it's on the other side of the country...

Panz, Vancouver

I actually heard about Panz from one of my readers (thank you!). It's a lovely little Chinese place with an entirely vegan menu. The vegetable soup I started with was so simple but the flavours were spot on. I got the lunch special which came with brown rice, some stir-fried veggies and a curious little dessert item. I'll admit the food was a tad greasy for my taste, but all-in-all Panz was very yummy. Plus, upon paying the bill, our waiter bid us goodbye by saying "I hope you all had a peaceful meal". It was indeed peaceful, and what a great way to feel when enjoying good food.

Edible Flours, Vancouver

So, it happened to be my birthday while we were in Vancouver and what would a birthday be without a vegan maple chocolate cupcake? I mean, really! Edible Flours is an entirely vegan bakery and everything I tried (including homemade donuts and cinnamon buns) was fantastic. This little beauty of a cupcake was moist and rich with a sweet maple icing. My only regret is not getting more of them while I had the chance.

Splitz Grill, Whistler

We took a day trip to Whistler and since it was too cloudy to even see the mountain, lunch became the focus of the day. Splitz Grill looks like your ordinary burger chain, but ordinary it was not! The spicy lentil burger was so good and even came topped with homemade hummus (a no-brainer for me). And those fries! I swear they were fried twice because the crispiness was off the charts. There's nothing like a burger and fries to brighten an overcast day, eh eh?

Mole, Victoria

We spent a weekend visiting family in the lovely city of Victoria. Home-cooked meals took precedence but we managed to sneak away for a late lunch at Mole. I ordered a tofu scramble with bell peppers, spicy beans and homemade salsa. It was great- and so filling! Can you believe this was the half order? I'd recommend Mole to anyone with a massive appetite who is willing to wait in line for a table (this place was jam packed). Mo-lay is right!

Happy eating everyone xo
